Building Healthy Families: Spend $1.50 on a new ink pen and you can use it to write 45,000 words before it runs dry. For such a small cost and an investment of a few minutes of time, you can use a cheap ink pen to make an incredible difference in someone’s life. This week, use that pen to write an encouraging note to an older man or woman living alone or in a care center in your community, or a grandchild or previous Sunday School student who has moved away, including your favorite hymn or Bible verse or prayer among the encouraging words you share. Perhaps at a critical moment of loneliness or doubt, God will use your note to remind them that they have not been forgotten - by Him or you. Bonus points for extending the value of your investment in that pen: with an average of 40 words per note counting the recipient’s name and address on the envelope, you can bring life, light, and joy to the lives of 1125 people this year before that pen runs dry! Happy note writing! Lutheran Family Service www.LutheranFamilyService.org
