C3 & Wolf Pack for Hunger

Posted October 2, 2025

C3 invites the Communities & Churches of the IKM-Manning School to join in  Wolf Pack For Hunger Walk & Soup Supper – Sunday, October 5

The first-ever Wolf Pack For Hunger (WP4H) Walk will be held on Sunday, October 5, at the Kerkhoff Trestle Park Shelter House in Manning, followed by a Soup Supper.

Schedule of Events:

  • Registration: 1:30 p.m. (at Trestle Park)

  • Walk: 2:00–6:00 p.m. (walk as much or as little as you’d like)

  • Soup Supper: 4:00–6:30 p.m. (at the Shelter House)

This event is hosted by C3 (Christ, Community & Celebration) and the communities and churches of the IKM-Manning School District. Proceeds will help fund the 8th Wolf Pack For Hunger packaging event, where IKM-Manning students and community partners will pack 50,000 meals for those in need.

Ways to Participate:

  • Walk and collect pledges (or just join for fun!)

  • Donate toward meal packaging

  • Bring canned goods for the Manning Food Pantry

  • Enjoy the Soup Supper

  • Cheer on walkers and pray for those we serve

Impact of Your Donation:

  • 32¢ = soup mix to feed 6 people

  • $16 = 50 meals

  • $70 = one case (2,126 meals)

  • $500 = sponsor a table of 20 volunteers for an hour

Our Goal: $16,000 to package 50,000 meals in 2026. Already $5,000 has been raised—help us raise another $10,000 through this event!

Let’s come together as a Wolf Pack for Hunger—one step, one meal, one life at a time.

Staying connected to Zion

Posted October 2, 2025

  1. If you have internet access of any kind (smartphone, tablet, computer), you can view any of Zion’s recent services, daily prayers, Bible studies (and other videos) through You Tube or Zion’s Facebook page, even if you don’t have a Facebook account, by following the steps below:

1)     Go to Zion’s homepage (zionmanning.com)

2)     Click on “Links” (near the top of the page)

3)     On the Links page, click on “Facebook Link.”

4)     On the Facebook page, click on “video” to select a service, prayer, or other video.

If you have internet access but can’t get this to work for you, call the church office for assistance!

  1. If you would like to have printed copies of the sermons mailed to you, or to pick them up in the office, just notify the church office! (712) 655-2352
  1. DVDs of the services are also available to be mailed or picked up.
  1. If you need anything, please call the church office (or email: zionmanninglcms@gmail.com). We have members who work in Carroll and/or are willing to drive there to pick up prescriptions, groceries, etc., and deliver them to your door. And, your pastor is always happy to listen to your concerns and/or to pray with you over the phone!
  1. Prayer is powerful, and also a great way to stay connected to the ministry of the Church and to your fellow believers! And your continued faithful giving will allow the mission of the Church to go forward during this crucial time.

Building Healthy Families

Posted October 2, 2025

Building Healthy Families: A recent CDC report on Alzheimer’s Disease noted that caregivers experience a significant level of burnout. It also noted that caregivers benefited from receiving education, respite care, and support. These lessen the burden of caregiving and improve the care received by their loved one. Anyone who has loved and cared for a family member suffering from this terrible disease would say Amen to that obvious conclusion. Who has God put in your world cares for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease? They likely won’t ask you for help…but help anyway! Take the initiative to do yard work, clean leaves out of the gutter, prepare food, or give them the gift of time away while you sit with their loved one. Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 Lutheran Family Service  www.LutheranFamilyService.org
